From fiber to fabric

From thread to fabric
Every woven product begins with the careful selection of fibers. Sometimes the fibers need to be spun, but usually the yarns are already produced.
Next, the process of warping the warp and winding the skeins that form the weft begins. Afterward, the yarn can be dyed by hand.

Thread by thread
Then, the meter-long warp is hung on the loom with the correct, even tension. Next, it's time to thread the heddles and pull the reed through. This often involves 600-850 threads, each of which must be manually threaded first through the heddles and then through the reed.

Weaving
Once all the threads are tied and the pattern has been tested, the bobbins are wound with hand-dyed yarn, and the weaving can finally begin. It's always an exciting and wonderful experience. Something new sees the light of day after all that preparation.

Finishing
